William Harvey Inmon nascido em San Diego, Califórnia 1945, é cientista formado em Matemática pela Universidade de Yale e Ciência da Computação pela Universidade do Novo México. É considerado pelo mundo DW como o pai do Data Warehouse.
Até 1991 el trabalhou para a American Management Systems and Coopers & Lybrand, depois montou suas empresas e ficou publicamente conhecido.
Further Bill Inmon was the creator of the Government Information Factory, as well as Data Warehousing 2.0. Mr. Inmon is a prolific author on the building, usage, and maintenance of the data warehouse and the Corporate Information Factory.
Em 2007 Bill recebeu o titulo da revista Computerworld como um das dez pessoas que mais influenciaram nos últimos 40 anos a indústria da computação.
